Encouraging Resident Mental Health at Kinder Care

The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented situation impacting the older adult community. Not only are the COVID-19 medical complications and mortality risk greater for older adults, but the crisis adds another layer of behavioral health challenges.

Even in pre-pandemic “normal times,” seniors face risk factors such as social isolation, financial challenges, illness, grief and loss, all associated with greater rates of anxiety and depression.

We want our residents and their families, as well as the Fargo/Moorhead community to know that the entire Kinder Care team is striving every day to help maintain our residents’ mental and emotional health. Having the ability to socialize and laugh with others is something, in our opinion that no one, we will never take for granted. As an assisted living facility, we understand the significance of following CDC safety procedures to ensure that our residents not only stay physically healthy, but mentally and emotionally healthy as well.

Like we’ve said over the last few months, we are still so extremely thankful to be one of the area’s facilities where ZERO of our residents have contracted COVID-19! Investing in the REME Halo Air Purifier back in February, and continuing to follow all safety precautions, we feel has helped stop the spread within our Kinder Care community. We love and cherish our residents and staff so much, and will continue to do everything in our power to keep them safe and healthy.
